One of the biggest growth opportunities before the Los Angeles region is to reinvent itself by accelerating its local green economy. Today, however, there is no single lens or platform from which to comprehend the scope of the stakeholders, practices and undertakings already contributing to this sustainable marketplace. Becoming a region at the forefront of building the green economy also translates to new revenue streams for achieving financial prosperity. The more we gather to establish our shared objectives, the easier it becomes to act on new opportunities and partnerships — locally, statewide and nationally. The green economy is already demonstrating positive impacts on the health of our natural resources, infrastructure and neighborhoods. By understanding our interconnections we can better leverage collective next steps. The advancements we make together will improve wellness at all levels of community.

This day will utilize cutting edge intelligence-gathering and facilitation methodologies to begin mapping the first regional baseline of LA’s growing green-principled economy. This “map” will identify: current stakeholders, practices, policies, resources, technologies, opportunities, and other areas of expertise to better comprehend the current playing field and essential elements that make up the region’s sustainable economy.
Through facilitated breakout sessions, designed to create action oriented discussions, this day will create opportunities for developing a new collaborative project for expanding and building a thriving sustainable economy for the LA Region.
The sessions will be topic-driven and interactive. The day will encourage cross-sector interactions, and deliver techniques to support a range of expertise and decision making. The participants will be encouraged to focus on creating actionable intelligence which will result in outcomes within the next year.
